When I say I, I mean I.

When You say You but Mean I, I think You’re referring to me. You know?

Following a statement up with: You Know? prevents the recipient from reflecting on what was said. Don’t be lazy. Communicate what YOU want to communicate and wait for your recipient’s response.

Gross generalizations are gross. Don’t do that. ever.

I disagree. I believe following a statement with “You Know?” is just a shortened version of “You Know what I’m saying?” which are both colloquialisms for “Do You Understand What I am Saying to You”, which gives the recipient plenty of reflection…
